Well I am currently with InTouch and they are one of the accounting firms charging a fee for tax planning for next year. I really do think this is cheeky since their service includes tax planning and for the last couple of years, I've not had a single review of my accounts until now when I really need it the most.

It's inevitable that they'll be changes so I would expect my accountant to always be up to date with these changes and provide advice otherwise what's the point of having an accountant? If I want someone to fill the forms and send me reminders, systems like FreeAgent are available and much cheaper.

There are plenty of contract specialised small accountancy firms like us who do not charge. You can buy them a coffee if you wish :-).

Already have. I've just signed up with Gorilla Accounting who are cheaper, have quarterly reviews and also include FreeAgent in their fee.

Out of interest, what time frame did they give for the handover (given this is no doubt a busy time of yr)?

About a month. The best and easiest time to switch is on your company year end.
