Short term gig staying with family

Brill. The way I was going to work it was pay cash to the family member weekly (like board), they receipt me for the 4 nights (£100), then I make an expenses claim to company for a receipted £100 + my £5 unreceipted incidentals for each night.

I'm a little concerned by SueEllens post when she states 'commercial'. Should I be asking the family member for an invoice to my ltd company and paying them directly from the company acct?

"Commercial" means just get a receipt for your bed and board, and don't take the piss.

No one will know it's a family member unless they happen to share the same surname and put this on the receipt. If you do share surnames then the evidence you provide e.g. that you aren't staying there free and you actually have to stay there should be sufficient.

And they don't need to report anything if it's under the threshold linky
