My preference would be to not agree with Rightstuff...however, he is right on this occassion!!

Right...am looking at buying a 42" Plasma/LCD and the best value one I've found is a Samsung at £700 from Dabs.com

I want it to be HD and it needs to look the business, but its for the spare room so doesn't have to be the very best quality...anyone got any better suggestions...

They all still appear to be rubbish to me, I have a quick look in Comet now and then, good picture for 200 quid, big rubbish picture for 4 times the price !?

            I agree,

I'm building a new house, and fitting it with all new equipment but one thing I am not buying yet is the flat screen TV because every time I go in MediaMarkt etc I cannot see a better picture from the flatscreens than I can see from the CRT televisions.

For now, the new house will run with our Sony Trinitron, until such time as the flat screens deliver a picture that a, isn't jerky, b, is the same from all angles, c, doesn't appear to cache the picture and catch up every so often.

Also, I am not satisfied with the life of plasma's at the moment

What does the membership think ?

that's more like it my moron friend . Only kidding. Different thread all forgotten - well I have anyway.

£700 for a 42" Samsung plasma sounds like a bloody good deal.

I'd of thought you'd have a large cinema annex on those .Net rates.
