A good friend of mine in the US had a gastric band fitted, as did the wife of an old school friend. Both were women..... and both ops were carried out laproscopicly. Both have been successfull. The second was carried out in the UK but was done privately.
In summary, they have both said that post op 1) they felt full sooner (naturally enough!) and 2) they would be physically sick if they eay certain foods and that prevented them eating them.
Well I'm on the train (free wifi on GNER - how decent of them!), and I haven't had any lunch yet....except I did have a packet of munchies at York station (oh, and a packet of rolo's).
