Hi
Quick question I will shortly be on a short-term contract living away from home. My home is my business address. I will be living in rented accommodation during weekdays only. Can i pay for the rent directly through my limited company bank account? or do I have to pay for it through my own...
Check this email I recieved today from a london based agency - not mentioning any names:
It’s that time of year again when the majority of agencies relax a little in the build up in the up to Christmas. Here at Premier, we are actually busier than ever with a wide variety of both permanent and...
Thanks for the advice chaps!
I think I will pay myself just 6k and if I recieve a letter from HM that I havn't made enough NI pension contributions through the tax year to qualify, I will make the one-off payment to make up the shortfall.
dont mind paying NI - how much will I end up paying over the year if I pay myself £6k a year? At what percentage is NI charged?
Also will I qualify for a state pension contribution year by paying myself this amount?
If I pay myself the personal allowance for the year from my ltd co (which I think is around £6000), plus any expenses. Would that mean I pay no income tax or NI for the year?
At the moment I am paying myself NMW and I think the tax is too high on it. :bluelight Any suggestions?

Thanks for everyones input on this. It all makes more sense to me now!!
This completely changes the way i go about agreeing future contract rates as i need to be thinking about the expenses that will be occurring on a contract (such as travelling to and from work) and include this when...
so am i right in saying that if an expense has not been agreed between myself and the agent/client then i don't actually get anything back?
The way im understanding it now is that you can claim back expenses from your own limited company but the only benefit to this is that it is not taxable...
i have an accountant but he just confused the hell out of me today.
i don't really understand how all this works so i will give you an example:
say i have incurred a business expense of £50 for buying business cards, that money has come out of my pocket so i am down £50. I can't invoice this...
Hi
Im all new to contracting so don't really know how things work. At the moment i am contracting through my limited company and i know the various expenses that i can claim back working this way.
my agency pays my wages once my timesheets have been approved by the client.
