Oi DimPrawn, you're sounding more and more like a panicking sheep in a field all alone with AtW.
Thanks Yes most people will be overleveraged with no stop loss and everything pinned on 1 trade then blame it on anyone else but themselves. This is why we see so many brokers advertising account bonuses for signing up..

At $1870 I'll move my stop to $1860 - then each $10 I'll do the same until it turns around and takes me out.

          Not that hard it it?

*EDIT* and as I wrote that it shot up to 1873. Time to go and 'play with my phone' inconspicuously...

You're beginning to sound just a little too smug.

As I say, I am skeptical about the 'expertise' of those in a business which would appear to have comprehensively bolloxed everything up so badly.
These current problems are being caused by Governments, US and European, who cannot manage their debts and are still overspending. I thank the Lord we got Labour out when we did or we would be in the tulipter as well at the rate he was spending. It is not really a bank or financial industry driven problem this time round.

Anway the first comment was more because you always admit you know nothing on this subject and less of an insult, then Lurch got in the way.

If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster

Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
                  And stoop and build'em up with worn-out tools;

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings,
And never breathe a word about your loss:
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings---nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much:
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And---which is more---you'll be a Man, my son!

So you work on the basis that the price of gold moves after some bad news or event, e.g. the stock market falling?

I just trade what I see on the charts - mainly bounces from support & resistance. In this case I just piled into gold to ride the doom.

I got stopped out of this one at 1860 for about a $20 move. On to the next one!

*Edit* - I also spend a bit of time on this forum:
