    ..which is worth £7billion.
And maybe worth a lot more by the time it gets there. Presumably if he had designs on selling it in the near future he would have sold it in London and saved on transport costs, the little hoarder. 211 tonnes gold = (2.22 metre) golden cube.

      Alternative to Gold?

      Bank of China (UK) Limited

All savings accounts are available in Sterling Pounds, Euros, US Dollars and Hong Kong Dollars.
Is the Hong Kong Dorrar as solid as the Chinese Yuan? Not that I'm in the market.

      They do mortgages too.

It's only doing that because I sold my gold you know.

In other news, I had a big short on oil last week, and it hit my stop loss, doing me out of £2K.

Now of course the price has fallen hard today.

I got stopped out for 2% on gold this morning as well - maybe that correction everyone keeps talking about might be happening. See what happens when the yanks wake up.. Could be another dip to buy at and make that £2k back and then some

My GBP/USD long is trying to push it's way up...

I never thought I'd see the words "pound" and "safe haven" mentioned in the same sentence so often. Looks like the markets approve of Osbourne..

I'd like to know who's buying Gold now, I have a feeling we're at the stage where it's the little guys now, not the large organisations.

                I may be wrong.

I guess its the Shoeshine boys at the moment.

I can see Gold rising further but it needs to consolidate the previous set of gains let alone the last fortnights before rising again.

I suspect the big boys are drip feeding their stock to the little clueless guys...

                    It'll end in tears.

As for Chavez, he's about to have some unpleasantness and when he stamps down on the rebels he doesn't want his assets seizing...
