Speckled Hen is OK, but you can't beat Director's bitter IMHO.Work in the public sector? Read the IR35 FAQ here -
I like almost every ale if I'm honest as I can pick one to suit a mood. Tonight is party night so kick off with an Old Empire then move on to an ESB before settling down to a session ale like 6x or LP.Originally posted by OwlHoot View PostSpeckled Hen is OK, but you can't beat Director's bitter IMHO.
I'm not too keen on the really dark ones though, I made the mistake of ordering an 'Owd Rodger' last weekend (7.6% looked like Guinness).

I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave JohnsonComment

Again, two I am not a great fan of. Odd, since I liked Director's a lot when younger. Mind you, it was nearly twice as strong then.Originally posted by OwlHoot View PostSpeckled Hen is OK, but you can't beat Director's bitter IMHO.My all-time favourite Dilbert cartoon, this is: BTW, a Dumpster is a brand of skip, I think.Comment

Had a rather nice pint of Cock-A-Hoop in a pub on wednesday. First pub pint I've had in a while.
Used to drink Directors a fair bit, 'Owd Roger on occasion as well.
Dogbolter was a serious pint too. It felt thick, almost chewy, as you drank it."Being nice costs nothing and sometimes gets you extra bacon" - Pondlife.Comment

Some 3.4% bitter a £1 per bottle from Lidl. It's like cold black tea.
Edit: It's Brakspear Bitter.Last edited by RichardCranium; 9 August 2009, 21:06.My all-time favourite Dilbert cartoon, this is: BTW, a Dumpster is a brand of skip, I think.Comment
