What you say probably has no relevance to the individual* but you do do say it so sympathetically. I have often thought of joining the Samaritans to reduce their caseload, the suicide rate would rocket and cut down on the repeat calls.

*Not getting at you specifically but I just think that all personal advice to another intelligent adult is a waste of time as they will do will they want to do and pick the advice that reinforces their own opinion.

Xog I completely agree. I never actually believe people take my advice. What it does though is help them make up their own mind (sometimes).
They either agree with what you say, or they disagree - either way, they suss out how they actually feel.
