I've had a NIP a few times but never points or a fine
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.
But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”Comment

Those that do: is it simply a warning symbol that shows, or is it a scanner, too?Originally posted by zeitghostThey don't for the mobile ones...

They work off frequency of sightings,so if plod moves around, you are stuffed. you need to get one of the illegal radar jammers off eBay for maximum protection.
PS those vans normally park on grass verges, do they realise it is an offence to park one's wheels off the carriageway? The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

mine is TomTom, you download the positions where police have installed camers, i.e. its just added to the route maps already in it. However the 'Road Angel' is much better as it detects actually activated police cameras, but it doesn't have route maps.Comment

btw: if you already have some points I strongly recommend you get a Road Angel, the risk of getting caught again and having your license taken away is too high nowadaysOriginally posted by SandyDown View Postmine is TomTom, you download the positions where police have installed camers, i.e. its just added to the route maps already in it. Some do - you can ring a number and let people know where the mobile cameras are, and it can send an update out.Originally posted by zeitghostThey don't for the mobile ones...

Clean, never had any points, never stopped for speeding (but I was stopped when the exhaust was falling off my car, some years back).
But then, I only speed on a motorway - never anywhere else, and not through road works.
Mrs F has 6 points, because she can't recognize the speed traps near us, until she has passed them.Comment
