I've got seven staff who smoke
Fag breaks cost me more in lost man hours due to sneaky fag breaks than the fags cost them.
I pity your poor staff if you have taken the time to stopwatch them on their fag breaks.

I assume you also have bowel movement and wee expulsion records of your staff. I also assume that when a member meets another at the coffee machine, and has a 2 minute chat about last night's telly, that too is recorded in your "little black book" ?

My, the Fuhrer would have been so proud.
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

I'm looking forward to the ban, even though I smoke.

The reason is, the anti-smoking nazi's will have secured a significant victory and as such I shally meekly comply.

It is therefore only fair, that I reciprocate the impingement on my personal freedoms and liberties and engage in a zealous campaign of asking the anti-smoking nazi's to justify their carbon footprint and mercilessly hounding them over every non carbon-neutral activity they enjoy.

And when someone cottons on to my reverse vindictive behaviour, and says

"But Geek, you were poisoning those around you",

      I shall reply,

"Perhaps. But you are killing the whole fekking planet"

I can't understand why a (presumably) sane person would want to continue smoking under the barrage of evidence suggesting it will end your life early.

I also can't understand why you'd want to smell all the time but I guess that's a personal preference.

There is a CUK training course on how to setup polls held every month in various parts of the country. Email the admins here for prices and dates.

As does fat, sugar, lack of exercise, alcohol, stress, pollution and all the other 'bad' things to which we expose ourselves in excess. Hey, let's all lock ourselves in climate controlled pods and run on a treadmill whilst eating lettuce.

                  Disclaimer: I'm not a smoker...

Why the fook should non-smokers have to leave in order that self-indulgent smokers can continue polluting the pub that the non-smoking majority wish to enjoy a pint in?
I agree bans are not a good thing per se, but sometimes they are the only solution. Education quite simply does not work effectively enough due to the selfish nature of so many of the nicotine addicts.
