Depression

5.00 star(s)
You obviously having been paying attention to the many studies that state owning pets you can stroke and cuddle make people less likely to be depressed.

In the case of dogs because they have to be walked it means their owners have to get outside, this also helps prevent their owners being depressed.

Edited to say: Lots of people have cats cos they don't have the time to walk and be with dogs. Unfortunately unlike dogs not all cats are affectionate to their owners while others are affectionate to everyone.

WTFH is not depressed though, this thread has been used as a vehicle to proffer how great WTFH's life is.

"It's completely horrendous how much oil my rayburn is using now, I wish I could go gas like the working class"

Well, let's see...
The oven came with the house. We didn't buy the oven. It's been in this house for at least 25 years.
The house is in an area where we can't get gas. Oil and electric are the only options.

You were the one who chose to pick up on my reply and turn the thread into that. Other posters who talked about what they enjoyed about this time of year, or what they did to avoid depression, you chose not to focus on them. So, who is so obsessed with me that they had to make these personal attacks, and then try to blame me for it?

Shall we walk through your false premise together?

Think it must be the time of the year...

Cold, damp, grey and dark outside & we've got another 6 months of it... everyone obsessed with Strictly come f*****g Dancing & the Great British Frikkin' Bakeoff...

Oh Gawd... there must be more to life than this.

There is!

There's the Archers at 7pm each evening on Radio 4

"they wouldn't be depressed if they just smiled a bit more"

"and had a rayburn"

Ski season starts in a few weeks. If work slacks off a bit, I can take a few weekdays out to supplement the weekends. Usually a bit of sun in the mountains.

I have cats, children and an ordinary stove.

Will it help cure your depression if we do?

If so:
1. We did not buy a new oven.
2. We bought a house.
3. The oven, like the doors, fireplaces, electrical wiring and plumbing is built into the house. It would have cost the previous owners more money to remove it from the house than the oven is worth.
