I was toying with the idea of building my own box, but after viewing this video on the mobo on YouTube I'm too afraid.

I don't know what most of the things he is rabbiting on about are.
How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

Yes I had do do a bit of studying when I was selecting the parts as things had moved on a bit from 4 years ago when I built my last pc.

It is a pleasure though to tinker away in the night.
      Unpacking all the shiny parts.
Looking in the istallation manualt to see where everything should be located.
Quietly assembling the parts with a screwdriver in your hand and a flashlight in your mouth.
      Connecting all the cables.
Swtiching on the power for the first time and seeing it boot and spin everything up.
      Then installing windows.
Then install office package, databases, games, system utilities.
      Testing that everything works fine.

AND BEING BLOWN AWAY BY THE PERFORMANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (approx. 16 times faster than previous pc)

But win7 is a definite step i the right direction - seem from a Vista vista.

Win7 dows not try to occupy the whole pc immediately.

You might want to replace the keyboard though

Seriously, sounds like a great rig - what CPU cooler are you using?
Where are we going? And what’s with this hand basket?
