    Animated avatars?

Having constructed my dinky flashing XmasTree, filmed it, edited the animation and converted to .GIF then tweaked it down to 17K (only 2 hours work) ... I went to upload it as my Avatar.

"You may not upload animated images."

Is it me, or have they been banned?

    They are banned now.

So no more Troll wiggling his bum, since he's changed his avatar and won't get it back. Last time I changed mine, I had a great animated one lines up, but couldn't use it.

I don't think there was an announcement per se. Maybe it was when the inline images were removed?

                    No idea when or why.

Owlhoot found out the same - he changed his poppy-eyed avatar, but the upload of the new one failed, and it still wouldn't revert to the old one (which I thought was great).

Maybe there is a fear that too many like those of Ollie would appear?
