I haven't seen that anywhere. What will happen to consultancy-like Ltd that usually work for 6-8 months? (no more than 12).
Shouldn't these be outside IR35, especially if they're genuine services providers?
Considering I've got up to speed on a lot of the implications of the IR35 reform, I'm missing something really basic here. I'm sure I'll get flamed for asking this but here goes anyway.
A lot of what I've read/heard is that there are certain things that could 'raise a flag' to HMRC causing...
I think it's likely that I will soon be deemed to be within IR35 so will be paid my invoices minus income tax and NIC. But what does this mean for corporation tax?
If my Ltd company continues to pay me a personal salary of minimum wage, then I will still be accumulating profit and have to pay...
I've got a good friend who works in the public sector - works in management.
He says after it all died down they started giving out lots of outside ir35 contracts, so don't worry, the private sector will be the same in a year's time.
Anyone else heard the same about the public sector ? I...
After 20 years of working in the industry the changes that are coming in are for me the straw that breaks the camel's back and I feel that a great many skilled contractors who provide far more than just a bum on a seat when they contract to an end client are being demonised by the huge companies...
My client just told me that I'll be inside IR35 from April...
What is the usual take-home pay % that I would expect from an umbrella that's NOT using any dodgy schemes?
I’m surprised that there is so much surprise from the forum about companies taking the “no PSCs” route.
It’s a perfectly sensible approach for Companies who are risk averse.
Thinking on the other side of the fence, if I have a contractor that just walks out the door upon a blanket inside determination and I have to put their contract out to the market as 'umbrella only'. I'd certainly want a 4 week notice period instead of the usual 1 week (maybe 2) either way etc...
Just a thought experiment, not claiming this will work or not. opinions welcome.
Scenario :
Working with a client in an outside role that has been documented with agreed working practices and covered by insurance.
Client decides the role is now inside from April 2020. Nothing else changes...
There are about 200 contractors at clientco - only 6 on the project I am on.
I am the only one (I know of) of our 6 who is quitting due to the blanket rules.
Everyone else seems to be accepting the income cut and carrying on.
What are others seeing at clientcos ?
Hi,
Apologies if this is a repeat question.
I have a substitution clause in my current contract, but, to be super watertight, is it worth having a written agreement between myself and my chosen substitute. I have someone that is fully capable and willing to be a sub if required so I'm...
Let’s list some helpful bullet points for all the people now visiting CUK in IR35 after a few weeks some kind soul (me if no one else volunteers) can put it into a new post
I will start
Child benefits
Now you are via PAYE/umbrella and earn over £50K (£200 a day ish gross) you will need to...
Before beginning, I believe it is the right of everyone to sell their labour as a business. IR35 is an insidious idea born of the Labour Party, competing consultancies, unionised workers/civil servants.
Companies are now coercing people to lie, and agree to 'inside' when, they are not. Well...
Hi,
My UK Ltd company provides consulting services to my UK based client. They have requested to all contractors to use the CEST tool to assess if we are inside or outside IR35. I recently moved to Spain whilst temporarily (for the next month or so) will carry on working for my UK Ltd company...
I may be deemed inside IR35 from april and have approx 50k inside my ltd company
if i move to umbrella can i still next year extract the 50k as dividends from what will be dormant company?
An Indian agency tell me they want to hire me as a contractor because I once worked for the same client 2 years ago.She said the daily rate is 300£ per day for the same job and said this contract is outside IR35. But I was paid 500£ per day when I worked for this client 2 years ago. The end...
I appreciate that some of this has already been covered and apologies for the lengthy post, but I wanted to focus on a couple of specific points to understand the differences, which I couldn’t find sufficient details on.
My situation
I’ve been contracting outside IR35 with the same bank client...
Hi CUK. For the first time in a while I posted a new article on LI about IR35 and why from a hiring perspective, actually, hiring workers under a brolly looks more attractive than using a permie right now. You all know why it's bad news, but if you'd give the article a read and maybe toss a...
