BN66 - Time to fight back (Chapter 3)

Thanks a lot for that helpful reply earlier re: CTD and penalty charges. Maybe I'll just take a £100 CTD on the side, just to get some practice and do a bit of hedging :laugh FD

BN66 - Time to fight back (Chapter 3)

Hi, Sorry if this has already been asked and answered but, just a quick one. If I take a COTD and then use it to pay any tax liability, does it cover the interest on the liability (about 6% per year, right?) as well as the penalty charges (about 5% fixed of the total liability amount)? Thanks, FD

BN66 - Time to fight back (Chapter 3)

I mentioned a month back that I got a letter from HMRC that had my name wrong (they called me "Gordon", and I don't even live at 10 Downing..), wrote the wrong NI number, probably wrong reference too, and stated that I had a trust way back to 2006/2007 (only started this year). I wrote back...

    De Graaf/TwentyPlus/IOM DTA (Double Tax)

Hi there, Just got a confirmation: There are about 600 people in De Graaf affected by BN 66. They also said there are apparently a lot of other companies who're offering similar schemes and whose clients are now affected. Hope that kinda clears it up.

BN66 - Time to fight back (Chapter 3)

Sorry, I meant just a normal bank transfer (the type that takes 3-4 working days between different banks). As you said, there's no mention of it in the HMRC website. Really want to take out the CTD, so just to confirm, the process would be: 1. Transfer the money into the account. 2. Send them...

    De Graaf/TwentyPlus/IOM DTA (Double Tax)

yup, that's what my colleague said the consultant told him. As mentioned before, it was 50,000 letters sent out, but I'm not sure whether all of them are to De Graaf clients (would quite doubt it) or everyone using using DTA protection.

    De Graaf/TwentyPlus/IOM DTA (Double Tax)

Hiya... AFAIK, initially they were called TwentyPlus, first I heard of them was in late 2006. Anyway, I think they belonged or were closely linked to an employment agency and after that they left. My impression was that they dealt with accountants because people I heard it from, and myself were...

Thanks again, I've let my colleagues know as well... We've been feverishly reading them from the thread you've provided, in the last hour; It's a real eye-opener...agreed, we're basically in the same boat. Hope I can get this over and done with soon...

    De Graaf/TwentyPlus/IOM DTA (Double Tax)

Hi there, Is anyone part of the above (ie. using a IOM trust tax structure) or are there any threads that have discussed this earlier? It would be really helpful if anyone could share their feelings or what actions they are taking regarding their recent happenings, or just let me know where I...
