I am sorry that the existence of Polish minority in the UK turned your otherwise wonderful country to such a paddle of misery.Originally posted by oscarose View PostAgreed!!
Tell that to a politician

If UKIP are the answer, then it must have been a very stupid question.Comment

Ah yes! At least Gazeta Wyborcza and Super Express are still "Polish". So you see for yourself the root cause of smear campaign against Poland and Polish people.Originally posted by darmstadt View PostI believe only Fakt (largest circulation and much like the Bild or Sun) is owned by Axel Springer and Gazeta Wyborcza is like the Daily Mail. Rzeczpospolita is mainly owned by Norwegians, Super Express is Polish some others were owned by Springer but have been sold off...I occasionally go to Poland when I'm up that way to buy vodka, sausage and cigarettesIf UKIP are the answer, then it must have been a very stupid question.Comment

our way its India/Pakistan, Polish at first and we are seeing more other eastern Europeans now. Not seen the Spainards & Italians at the bottom end yet.Originally posted by doodab View PostI suspect, based purely on observation rather than ONS stats, that a large chunk of the current wave of migration is Spaniards & Italians. So we're more likely to have the Costa del Croydon.

The Net immigration from EU for a long time was only a small fraction of the overall immigration 'WAVE' or 'FLOOD OF' as some like to call it. Only since very recently EU numbers are inexplicably on the rise, while non EU are going down because of bogus colleges crackdown. Caveat here is that we do not know whether the number of illegal immigrants increased as a result. I am also thinking ... is it at all possible that some 'Greek' or 'Portuguese' are in fact Asian?Originally posted by vetran View PostI'M BLAMING THE POLES
As you point out we already had Ghetto's from previous waves.
Do we add to those and have Romani-Ford Or Latvi-brook to join Luton-Stan or Barbados-Brixton?

You need to take another look at your dates. The people born after WW2 started down low economically but experienced nearly 65 years of economic growth, with very few breaks in between. Their parents, most of whom are in their 90s or dead already, experienced the real post war poverty. And that's what I'm saying; whether UKIP are right or wrong is irrelevant; they're old and they're dying. Mr Farage's biggest battle is not against Mr Cameron, Mr Clegg or Mr Miliband; it's against demographics, and he's going to lose that battle. It will only take a very minor shift in the next 5 or 6 years in the average age of voters and the anti-EU brigade will lose the referendum and that shift is happening now. Better to accept that and reform from within.Originally posted by DodgyAgent View PostWriting people off as old and grumpy is all very well. What you do not seem to appreciate is that the older generations have a first hand experience of post war poverty. And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? @mos you obviously haven't been here long enough and live in a completely White area. No Indian/Pakistani would get away with saying they are Greek or Portuguese.
Apart from the differences in appearance there is a massive cultural difference between those Europeans and those Asians."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment
