I ran my first ever half marathon as a training run yesterday. Been largely off the booze for a while preparing. I'll be having a few beers over the next week and then staying off again as I plan to up the training this year.

Urgh. There was me thinking you were such a sweet girl.

This will be my 10th January off the booze (hopefully not there yet) as I'm into 10 years off the pop.

          Choice or necessity
          Both.

I ******* hate the "dry January" pricks as much as I hate the "new year's resolution" knobs who will be polluting the gym for the next few weeks until they go back to their lardy sedentary ways

              Choice

Always found it difficult to drink in moderation and since I had stopped smoking, the occasional times when I was drinking it felt as if I was substituting extra drinks for the lack of cigs.

I'm giving Dry January some serious consideration. Will have to start on the 2nd for me though as I have a "do" to go to on Wednesday.

I had a dry January two years ago

Never doing it again unless I have to....much easier to have a dry July or August.
