I wonder about that. Some of the more savvy investors will be considering stagging (many will not), but I'd bet a good proportion of the retail investors are not really investors, just interested in owning some RM shares (there were nearly 100k requesting only £750). In terms of institutional investors, I think they favoured pension funds and other institutions that will be hanging onto the shares long-term.

All members of the public who have applied for shares in Royal Mail through the Retail Offer, up to and including applications of £10,000, will receive an allocation of 227 Shares which is equivalent to £749.10 at the Offer Price. This represents almost 95 per cent. of all members of the public who have applied - or over 690,000 people. Those who have applied for shares worth more than £10,000 will not receive an allocation, which is in line with the treatment of larger applications in previous well over-subscribed privatisations.

Looks like no matter how much upto £10k you are only getting the minimum, good news for anyone who had family members register for them

It's bizarre that those who've asked for more than £10k will receive nothing - WTF, if they limited EVERYBODY to £750 then it's fair enough, really what kind of retarded IPO is that - if they got high demand then set final cut off sale price high enough to maximise money to the seller - the taxpayer!

I ordered less than £10k so will see how many I get tomorrow morning.

With my luck the price will fall through the floor. You'd want me to stay away from companies you have shares in...I buy share and price falls.
