I kid you not on this, I was contracted to a constabulary once and someone in their gender diversity team gave us the list of possible genders that a person could choose to identify themselves. There were a lot more than two :S

Of course there were. If you have a 'gender diversity team' then they have to justify their existence by dreaming up lots of new genders.

LGB became LGBT became LGBT* when they realised there are far to many variations ... * for miscellaneous (LGBT - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

A stands for "association" in my context.

But technically I'm wrong, LGBT* is about sexuality not gender-identity.
