Apart from true herbivores who can't digest meat, everything eats meat in some form because animals will eat whatever then can get sustenance from. Man clearly would have eaten things like eggs, grubs, fish and milk even if they didn't hunt... which they did.

And you don't even need to be able to hunt to eat meat. Many animals scavenge dead meat without ever killing anything.
Oh dear, still not getting it? Yes we can digest meat, but it is shown that it causes many diseases if done too much and especially the kind of meat we are sold. If you go out and kill the occasional chicken in order to survive then I have no issue with that, but if you survive without causing another being pain and death then why do it?

What I mean is, my point is just because cavemen did something doesn't mean it was right or healthy.

Not quite that simple; it won't work if there's only one human; you need a group and you need to approach with some care and knowledge.

          Stating the bleeding obvious there.

Because it tastes nice. We could feed carnivores special food made from soya if we wanted to, saving the fluffy bunnies. Is that what you want?

If there were some cavemen still about russell would have an equal for this debate.

Just don't give the names of those cavemen or you might get done for defamation.

Now come on. That's unfair. Cavemen - at least Homo Sapiens cavemen - were just as intelligent as modern man. You should be more specific - so "Neanderthal cavemen" - for example. Or homo erectus, which would seem more likely, as Russell seems to be getting off over defending an indefensible position.
