Re: Your obode

Oh and the sea views haven't been built yet, but given enough global warming and sea level rises...:D

Re: Your obode

Re: Your obode

5-bed detached (self-build) near Tunbridge Wells. Mortgage, no contract for two and a half years and a litigous neighbour from Hell, so I can't even sell up and move. :(

Re: we have..........

Re: we have..........

Mindomoo, aren't you female? In which case, without wishing to sound sexist, how much of that property is thanks to your contractor rate?

Re: we have..........

Re: we have..........

yes I am female

How much is to do with my contractor rate - none actually

We bought it prior to me contracting when I was a 36K permie and my other half was an 80K permie - we based the mortgage (176K) on his salary alone to give us some breathign space

What my contractor rate now enables (in addition to his 80K permie salary thereby having some degree of security against the contracting market) is for me to :

1. Pay a gardner for two days a week in summer and one in winter to keep the land under control

2. Pay a cleaner to clean the hosue one day a week

3. Not have to worry about us botching DIY - we pay a man who can

Not sure what you were trying to get at though!

Re: we have..........

Re: we have..........

Yeah Mindomoo, and why 4-beds when you don't want kids? Or has your "timer" finally gone off?
:b

Re: we have..........

Re: we have..........

Bloody hell, you guys are making me feel poor. Just wait till I sell my London flats and buy half of Kent :D

Re: we have..........

Re: we have..........

Why 4 beds?

Two reasons...........

1. We wanted a large kitchen and land - funnily enough these tend to come in 4 bed houses

2. I often work from home as doen him indoors - so the bedrooms are accounted for as:
main bed
guest bed
his office
my office

We have one very large loung and one kitchen on the ground floor with a wood floored reception hall

Nowt to do with timers (some of us dont have them)

By the time this contract finishes, xmas for the shop and I have sold my last BTL in Brighton I will have paid off my mortgage on my house which is presently £160k plus have £50k in the bank.

Wasn't getting at anything. Simply husbands are usually the highest earners, so I wanted to know whether the property was thanks to contracting or something else; innocent question.

Bloody hell, you guys are making me feel poor.

Don't worry, SG, I'm still renting my pikey flat :(
