Anyone who has studied biology know that mucus comes from the snottus gland which is situated between the pancreas and the aeorta. The snottus gland is stimulated by various things including the hay-fever virus and the common cat mite that lives in the fur of most moggies. The snottus gland has two exit tubes in males, the left and right nostril, the female has an extra one known as the fannius batterus.
