I really do not give agents the time of day until I need a gig and they give off the impression that they are not arsing about (which is quite rare)

Yeah, I'm getting that impression. Surely they are a necessary evil though? So long as clients refuse to go direct we have little choice - it can't hurt can it?Originally posted by minestrone View PostI really do not give agents the time of day until I need a gig and they give off the impression that they are not arsing about (which is quite rare)Comment

You could steal an Agent's wife from him, if he got a gig through the next day and thought you could do it and make him money he would call you up and pitch it to you.Comment

There's nothing wrong with schmoozing with agents, it can be a fun & rewarding experience but make sure you wash your hands afterwards. What happens in General, stays in General. You know what they say about assumptions!Comment

I think he is trying to say it is impossible to get on an agents black list. Steal his wife away or take his 16 year old daughters virginity. If the agent has a gig that you fit and he can make money out of you then he will put you forward. No need to cultivate a relationship with them.Originally posted by Chaffinch View PostErm, eh?

I could agree with you, but then we would both be wrong!

Ahhh, lightbulb moment. I see. Cheers butt
They have a living to make, same as us, a necessary evil in my view, no point making enemies just because you question their methods - it's a bit like biting the hand that feeds you ......Comment

I'd like to meet an agent who hadn't sold his daughter's virginity by her 16th birthday.Originally posted by Arturo Bassick View PostI think he is trying to say it is impossible to get on an agents black list.
