You can add something like this legally
"Due to the nature of work, and confidentiality requirement, only people with British Passports would be considered"

Why not just list the particular skills that are needed? 'Strong industry knowledge', 'strong written and spoken communication skills in English', 'ability to understand complex business problems and translate into technical solutions' are all euphemisms for somebody who speaks the language and understands what needs to be done. Then get trusted members of your team to filter the CVs.
