Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

http://www.tfl.gov.uk/assets/downloa...eport-2010.PDF
page 106 shows revenue of £3.6 bln - page 10 shows 2.25 bln passengers were carried, page 84 says 80% of revenues are ticket sales so that's £2.9 bln or £1.28 revenue per customer.
Conclusion - overpaid Londoners charge honest visitors far more than they pay themselves by using massive discounts
But to second part, yes the "visitor" rates are just a total rip off, zone 1 ticket only: Cash, £4.00 Oyster: £1.80
Which is why i tell anyone coming to london even for just a day to buy a card, one return journey you make up the initial outlayComment

I used to pay about £90 a month for my travelcard when I lived in zone 3, and about £50 when I lived in zone 1.While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'Comment

I only posted it for the benefit of others. Sometimes people get lazy and believe the popular opinion; not everyone knows where to find the facts (as much are they are given the source). While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'Comment
