Don't particularly want to end up in Harwich at 7am on a Friday morning.

Could stay but I *have* to get home cos the missus and I have a (fortunately UK based) weekend away sans enfants long planned.

        Try Ijmuiden to Newcastle. http://www.dfdsseaways.nl/

OK, so you arrive in Newcastle, but onward travel should be easier than from Harwich.

If all the ash is at 50,000ft, why can't they just fly a bit lower?
Politicians are wonderfull people, as long as they stay away from things they don't understand, like working for a living!

              Because of downdraft dispersal .

The last eruption lasted more than a year.

Does this mean a boom in ferries?

                P&O shares anyone?

My flight tomorrow has been cancelled, which means a miserable weekend here in UK rather than in Germany

My step daughter is away in Gran Canaria, and is not sure if there will be flights back to UK on Sunday, when she is supposed to be travelling.

That means a miserable few days in Gran Canaria.... hang on wait a minute.

I am sure she is gutted.... NOT!!!

Rung her mother saying she may need some more money!! So she can stay a bit longer.

Hopefully she can claim on her travel insurance or the airline can supply some things.
