      That's old news.

Indian IT companies have offices in UK and bring IT bods on tier 1/work permit visas and contract them out to other clients .

Not legal but its been going on for a long time now

Yes, and some of them are working on stuff that requires a higher clearance than they have, if any at all.

If you make noises about it, you're ignored. And yes I do know the difference between no feedback and being ignored...

I tell yer: it's all going to end in tears.
Insanity: repeating the same actions, but expecting different results.

It comes to something when a consultancy can undercut a contractor. I thought the UK contractor market only existed as an alternative to hiring an expensive consultancy.

Lots of Indian nationals at the Rolls-Royce site I was on, I couldn't get on site without SC so gawd knows how it's happening?

Mr Staggs response wil be interesting. Hopefully there will be action and not just words of appeasement.

Whaddya mean, going to end in tears? There's plenty of tears in UK IT contracting already.

I don't see the difference between what TechM are doing and the likes of the gangs controlling the Chineese coockle pickers at Morecomb bay, except no one going to get killed whilst programming, unless it by an end user/client pissed about the bad software.

I'd laugh my cock off TechM they were found guilty, and fined £5K per illegal worker. I understand they have a few thousand kicking around in the UK.

Has there been any meaningfull update in regards to the ICT abuse?

E: Also you can get SC by being resident in the UK for 5 years. Worked with a few guys who came in via the student visa route and hence were able to get SC, which was cool because they were at least qualified and getting a similair rate to me.
