I'd definitely look into the CO aspect, no matter where the boiler lives. This stuff can kill you, so don't make any assumptions that you will never realise were wrong.
Detectors cost less than £30 - don't go mail order, go to Wilkinsons or B&Q or somewhere like that and buy one today. Frankly, if you use combustible gas in any aspect of running your home you should have one anyway.
