I'm packing..

Money, passport and a sports bag to hold not much else.

With that little clobber, Customs on the way out will instantly clock you as a drug smuggler and put you on some "full body search on return" list.

Maldives is a good test of your packing skills. You turn up for the plane in shirt/T-shirt, shorts and sandals/flip-flops. You carry in a small plastic bag the following:

Swimming costume

That's it.

Not if you're going diving :) I took half of my dive kit (admittedly we were boat-only transfer...I'd imagine if you were using Kenn Borek they'd have told me to do one!).

5 T-shirts.
5 pairs of socks.
5 pairs boxers/briefs.
3 shirts.
2 pairs shorts.
2 pairs trousers.
1 suit.
2 pairs shoes.
1 pair flip-flops.
Washbag, with shaving kit, toothbrush/paste, shower gel, shampoo/conditioner, deodorant/body spray, floss.
Small first-aid kit.
Sun-block & after-sun.
Travel adaptor for plugs/USB.
Noise-cancelling headphones with airline adaptor.
iPhone, possibly a netbook as well, depending on destination.
Camera, lenses, basic cleaning kit, spare battery and SD cards.
Chargers.
A tome of a book.
Sketchbook and small drawing kit.
Beach-towel, unless staying at an hotel where they'll be provided.
Lightweight soft-shell jacket, just in case.
Travel wallet with documentation, passports (plus photocopies), tickets, local currency plus US$ if in Asia or Africa, AMEX cheques or card.

I think that's about it.

Didn't the poor bunny have to go into quarantine?

<cough>

I think Menelaus was suggesting there are ways to take one's Rabbit on holiday that do not increase the hand luggage weight...

But if you're carrying the spare batteries for her put them inside a condom first to prevent getting a small shock.
