Wasps

I sometimes gently pick waspies up to put them outside. The only time they sting is if you attack them or sit on them or summit. The sting is completely negligible and I can't feel it in a few minutes anyway. Stinging nettles now, I hate those things. Feel em for hours.

Ah yes, but it's what's hidden behind the pelmet that's important, obviously, together with how well I can use it, surely?Originally posted by Zippy View PostI've never had any complaintsComment

I suppose you are right. I'd better get measured up.Originally posted by Menelaus View PostAh yes, but it's what's hidden behind the pelmet that's important, obviously, together with how well I can use it, surely?+50 Xeno Geek Points

Indeed. Better be careful with the tape measure, it's easily damaged and very sensitive under there.Originally posted by Zippy View PostI suppose you are right. I'd better get measured up.Comment

Wasps, Mosquitos, Labor politicians - all up against the wall come the revolution.
Wasps like me - they follow me and land on my head, my beer, my food.
Actually I think there is a plague of wasps now (on the mainland), it is an occasional natural occurence when they breed up too much & go mental.Bored.Comment

In fact there was a warning in Germany this year that there are more wasps than usual and they're more aggressive than usual. My arm has nicely swollen up and its not that easy using the keyboard and mouse today.
Don't like mossies either, they gave me malaria once! I hate those buggers that when you're lying in bed just buzz past your ear really quickly and you either wack yourself on the side of the head or spend half the night looking for the bugger“Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.”Comment

I think wasps get aggressive when they get hungry (adults eat sugar, only the grubs are carnivores), which is why the buggers head straight for your beer or food. Maybe there are no flowers around.
I got stung once and it was incredibly painful - it actually made me cry - so I'm not keen to repeat the experience.+50 Xeno Geek Points

I only recall having been stung once by a wasp. I stood on one as a kid and it got me between the toes. I recall that my foot swelled up and it would interesting to know if as an adult I would similarly swell up. Does swelling get less as you get older?Comment
