I was at Cardiff yesterday (not paying I hasten to add...was given tickets by a friend who didn't want to go).

I don't know if it came across on TV, but there was absolutely zero atmosphere there. Whichever dork was responsible for any Ashes test being played at that ground - let alone the first one - should be put up against a wall and shot.

I haven't seen any of the TV coverage but I don't understand why it was being played there? It's England V Australia - not Australia V Wales

The ECB who are running the show are actually the England and Wales Cricket Board

It's there because the Wales Tourist board paid £3.5M to the ECB to stage an Ashes test.

As an aside, the ECB is actually the England & Wales Cricket Board.

As a further aside, CMON JIMMY!!!!

Undisciplined Aussie attack is being carted by English tail. This is the big difference between the old Aussie attack and the new one. We used to rely on Warne and McGrath to clean up the tail.

We seem to be more proficient at dislodging top orders than the bowlers. Anderson's out now. Small consolation
