This isn't the same as opinionated...you just genuinely think there is no other way other than your way!

You're trying to get me to do Paul McKenna because you've done it for, what, 1 week?

I've been off for 18 months without one passed my lips!

I've already cracked it, my way. I'm just honest enough to talk about how I very occassionally miss the act of smoking.
That's right. And if you know it, you can live with it.

Knowing thyself is a rare trait on here.....

Not so, I've done that method twice, as soon as I stopped listening the old daemons in my head appeared again "smoking is cool" "I like smoking" etc. It's a lie you believe in order to get the nicotine hit, and even if you stop you remember that. Nobody craves cigarettes before they are addicted. To be rid..you need to reprogram your head to a time before you ever started
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

Been a few years now. Still tempted ocassionally especially with a drink. Pop the odd nicotine lozenge now and then.

But that helps against Alzheimers anyway.
and smoking is actually beneficial if you have ulcerative colitis.

I've had ulcerative colitis for 18 years and I have heard before that nicotine can be good for it, but I'm not sure if its a recognised treatment.

I cant imagine any doctor telling you to smoke for it!
Nicotine patches or tablets maybe, but not fags.
I'm sorry, but I'll make no apologies for this

Damn me and my need to google these things. There are some nasty pictures out there.

I'll learn one of these days.

Oh, and hope you're better now.

Alan Carr (gay comic) was going to call his autobiog "Go on, have a fag"; an amusing play on words in tribute to the other Alan Carr (anti smoking guy) but WHSmith said they wouldn't stock it with that title!

Same here, though not with anywhere like a 50 year gap!

When I was about 7 or 8, me and my best mate at the time 'borrowed' a cigar of my dad's, legged it down to the local playing field, and lit up. Took one drag and nearly puked. Never touched them since, though I really liked the smell of the pipe my grandad used to smoke when I was a lad.

So maybe a solution is to let kids try them at junior school in the hope it'll put most off for life.

But bad for Crohn's which is odd seeing as it's so similar to UC.

It's the nicotine that increases blood flow so patches would do a similar job, chillis are good too if you can stomach them.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson
