... or worship the Pope for that matter. Lets not confuse what God commands with what humans or human tradition demands.

when God made man and the Earth it was "good" (perfect).
See, that's where your arguments go all wrong and you lose the plot. "Good" is not a synonym for "perfect", either now or in the 17th Century when the King James translation was completed. I get really annoyed by people "interpreting" words for my benefit when the intepretation is not actually justified.

Argue the case on the stated words, which people keep telling me are those of God (albeit at around 50th hand by now), not on additional words fed in by someone to make a particular point.

And how do we know what God commands, Chico, my leatherclad gimpette ? You see it is us humans who interpret his wishes, he didn't write the Bible physically and Jesus is not around here at the moment to answer any questions. It's like the theory of ether, he is all around us, immeasurable and convenient.

mal according to my dictionary good means - In excellent condition; sound: Of high quality;Complete; thorough etc etc - if my reading of the good in Genesis as perfect causes a problem for you then it was not intended. Its all semantics. The point is decay, illness, death, suffering, evil etc are consequences of the human fall.

Rebecca - I believe contraception is sensible within the context of a marriage.

Jabber - Read the Bible it is clear what God's commandments are.

              God who?

I have noticed that there seems to be a lot of bad-stuff happening
lately but I don't think you can attribute any of it to God. Most of
              it is our (humans) fault.

              floods/hurricanes/fires
-> result of global warming, caused by burning fossil-fuel
              plane crashes
-> result of poor maintenance, caused by oil price hike cut-backs (see above)
              terrorism
-> result of political ineptitude, caused by manipulating region where oil comes from
              rape/murder
-> result of too many messed up people, caused by low infant mortality rates in poor

              Need I go on?

Whatever you believe I'm sure the dude upstairs isn't too happy that you
are pinning our mess on him...

Nah! We were just too dim to notice that we were decaying, ill, dead or suffering. Evil? No such thing.

You mean you don't believe in pre-wedding intercourses?

I have nothing against that, as long as you are in time for the ceremony.
I've seen much of the rest of the world. It is brutal and cruel and dark, Rome is the light.

I can highly recommend giving one of the bridesmaids one just before the ceremony. And afterwards, come to that.
