To put it in very basic terms, the Da Vinci Code is a work of fiction. There are various sources quoted in the book that may be verifiable, but ultimately it is just an entertaining story.

The Bible is also a work of fiction. There is no proof whatsoever that Jesus actually existed, and the various Gospels are simply that person's take on events.

What is interesting is that there were many more Gospels left out of the New Testament than went in it. There's no disputing that Emperor Constantine compiled the New Testament at the Council of Nicacea, but what is disputed is what the real truth was and what was left out.

However it would explain the similarity between festivals in Judaism and Christianity, and the origin of Xmas, Easter etc (Paganism?).

I don't believe or disbelieve either version, I do however have an open mind on the subject.

Oh dear not sure where to start with this one. Bible work of fiction? Jesus never existed? Boy dazza did you came up with all this all by yourself? Ok The Da Vinci code is fiction - there we agree. I do not want to question your intelligence dazza but in light of the overwhelming evidence for the existence of Jesus Christ (both Biblical and non biblical) and the historical, scientific, archaeological proof for the Bible - I have no choice really.

There is no proof he existed and/or did what the Bible says.

The Bible is a load of tosh designed to get people past the dark ages when their limited knowledge is not sufficient to explain the world around them. It became obsolete at least 100 years ago and its about time people opened their eyes and faced the truth -- there is no God as explained in the Bible, Koran, Tora etc.

There could be aliens with much more advanced technology that would make them Gods in practical terms, but this ain't the God the Bible is talking about it.

There are planets out there with intelligent life, most likely much older than humans because humans only exist for mere 10 millenia. There is nothing about this in the Bible simply because those fraudsters who wrote it had no clue about what happens outside of their churches. This is why I can easily rule out existance of God as described by the Bible and count chances of aliens finding us before we find them.
