They have these open toaster thingies in Denmark. They look hideously dangerous so are probably highly illegal in the UK. Can take any thickness of bread though.

    Which is nice.
Insanity: repeating the same actions, but expecting different results.

Toast done under the grill of the cooker can not be beaten. Though alas it can be burnt.

Toast done on a toasting fork over a log fire. Much better.

The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

Funny how often this question comes up here. There should be a link on the CUK main page to a section on toasters.

Dualit have the name, but although they usually last forever I've found mine doesn't toast evenly in the slot next to the wide one at the end when this is turned off.

Why hasn't someone invented ready-made toast that you can buy and eat ?
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

They have. It is very popular on both on the continent and Skaro, although the delivery charges to the latter are very high.
