Linkedin

it's been okay for me. I've had two oppurtunities for new roles. One failed and the other one I start next week. No Pimp involvement as it is direct to the client, so rate already has an extra 20% added on, thank you very much.

I suppose it is like everything else in life, you get out what you put in. I have invested a bit of time networking on the site. I have had my profile on there for about a year and have had two enquiries, my mate has had his for 18 months and not had any. But then again I have logged into my profile at least once bimonthly.

I have also managed to stay in touch with some previous colleagues, which has provided some laughs too.

So in general I found it quite useful.

It looks quite useful so I've joined.....

One thing to bear in mind is that if you allow someone to join your network, they can browse your connections (though I think that can be proactively disabled.) So don't just allow anyone in there. [chortle chortle, guffaw, guffaw.] Sorry couldn't help it. :tongue

Beware, by adding your name/company on that site you are going to come up on google searches for said company and may find yourslef getting muchos cold calls/spam/unsolicited mail.
