Bizzarre...they didn't tell you the company they were calling from?

Maybe they weren't impressed with you so they decided to keep it a secret.

They did tell me, but the lady had such a strong French accent, and spoke really really fast, so when she said she'll email me the details I just went along with it and faked knowledge of the company !!

BA= Business Analyst (Business requirements, process modelling, strategies, workshops etc etc)
SA== Systems Analyst (Functional technical specs, UML diagrams, use cases etc)

DA= Data Analyst ( Data model, data flow diagrams, data cleansing etc etc)

Its a nioce idea, would love to do it, will look at temp work, don't want to go and get people's kid attached to me and parents relying on me before am 100% sure about it.

I am a BA - looking for the last 2 months - 2 offers - both fell through.

Had lots of agents calling looking for leads! Thinking of charging them for my time.

Also seems that when agents say they have submitted your CV - they don't always. Caught one out today! Probably why they are not too bothered if they "duplicate".

Surprised to hear anyone in banking out of a job - that's all they have on jobserve! Otherwise it seems 10 agents trying to fill the same job.

May be someone will spot me on LinkedIn and offer me a lovely job with great pay, short hours, nice people......

I've noticed a change in attitude from some of the big banks in the City recently. They appear to be aiming to recruit more permies and less contractors. I guess they see this as a cost reduction, which it really isn't considering all the legalities of employment. Certainly at some of the places I've heard of, they are trying to either convert contractors to the dark side or replace them with permies.

What's your BA experience is in? Have you done a lot of investment banking. I have only just finished a contract and been applying for the last 2 days only.

I agree the agents' calls are a bit too good to be true, and very odd. 7 months ago when I was looking I managed to secure 5-6 interviews within a couple of days, and got 3-4 offers within a week. Now I do get immediate call backs, but only secured 2 interviews both for roles I applied to the client directly.

No one has asked me for leads really, that's why am finding it odd, they are not fishing, they are calling back.

I don't have any IB experience so am in a different market from you. Recently mostly not-for-profit/public sector. Want to get back into private sector....

I know a few other BAs that are out of work....August has definitely been quieter - but have never looked in August before!
