I am a victim, I was picked on at school because of the colour of my hair and to this day I have to put up with remarks that 'ordinary' people don't have to, is it acceptable to call someone 'fatty' or 'coon' to their face? No, so why am I expected to just put up with it?

But as long as people perpetuate this 5hit all I have to look forward to is my child coming home from school crying because some feckin idiot thinks it's ok and acceptable to teach their kids to take the pi55 out of people with red hair.

ah jedi man - you have to change this attitude, else you WILL have your child coming home from school in tears, cause he'l pick up on your sensitivity and make it his own.
I've said many times I dont find "fatty" (or words to that effect) offensive. Its a fact, not a put down. Its only a put down if you feel insecure about it yourself.
And exactly the same for ginger hair. Its not an insult - how could it be?! Ginger hair is lovely!

Good advise, to be fair I'm more aubern than copper and I hung around with the hard kids so I didn't get too much stick at school, I know of others who had it a lot worse and I felt their pain like only a 'ginger brother' could!

At school I had a BO problem and everyone hated me. I was bullied relentlessly. It made me extremely sarcastic and defensive, I was a misserable loner. I developed into a serial bragger to compensate and try to make friends. Thanks god I am not like that now.

Look i want to clear this up. I was classed as a ginger at school, but didnt get any worse treatment that all the other kids. Everyone had somethign about them wether it be their personality or appearnce, we all got into fights and were picked on at some point.

There was a particular ginger kid, who did get smashed alot. More than the others, but that was because he was just a loud mouthed annoying fecker, and the fact he was ginger was just a bonus to kick him double hard, or more regulary.

Ginger or no ginger, if u get the respect for beign a decent person, lifes much easier.
