Big beauracracy.. Well, I once got a call 3 weeks after an interview asking when I could start [public sector] - had already been working elsewhere for 2.
A big bureaucracy ( by the way) isn't necessarily slow. After an interview at HBOS once, the agent called to say I'd got the job as I was driving out of their car park!

Yups. If the interview is smart, he'll be on the phone asap.

Stop thinking about it. It's not yours until the contract is signed anyway, assume you haven't got it until then and keep looking elsewhere. Don't bother chasing the agent, If theres a commission to be had the agent will be calling you.

It's usually pretty much instant if they are phone interviewing, 45 mins sounds hopeful though !? I got my current contract with a phone interview from a greek beach while amusing a toddler at the same time, beat that Capt Ind !

I'm assuming this toddler was your child?

Oops ! Yes it was my child. The interviewer rang an hour late and the Mrs had gone for a kip, not sure how I got the gig, lack of competition may have had something to do with it.

Generally with phone interviews they'll want to do a face to face soon afterwards if they're interested, to make sure you'll 'fit in' with the rest of the team.

Once had a phone interview and gets a call off the agent soon after saying "yep they're interested but want to see you, when can you go?". Was at the client's office within hours, having shot down the M6. Impressed the client and landed the contract. Having a fast car and the will to use it can be handy sometimes.

I prefer seeing the offices and people I may end up working with, so usually only accept phone interviews if it makes sense, such as if there's a lot of distance between me and them.
