It is a joke what we can get away with, I reckon on most contracts I can get away with 50% real work, 50% idling. I have had the odd 100% real work contract but not so many. Top tip - always have a few days of completed work tucked away to pull out for hangovers or if you suspect they are onto you !Originally posted by freakydancerThe excel trick never fails - at the moment I have BBC, NME, Football365, Myspace and Hotmail all open.
I used to worry about monitoring of internet use but don't bother anymore. Has anyone ever been ticked off / sacked for this !?Comment

Listen. This type of work is all politics.
Usually it is bum on seat mentality. But if you carry some weight, ie worked for some prestigious companies, got some good experience many managers just like the idea of having you in their team so they can wax lyricall to their bosses or other departments and make themselves feel important that they are managing a team of talented people.
hoenstly. my manager sat me down last week and started appraising me and my work asking me to provide proof of this and that and why i should stay.
I just looked at the manager and said, you know what i do. if you still have the requirement for a contractor then ill stay if you dont, then ill go.
simple.
i stayed.Comment

Dude looks like a Lady, badhap, badhapThe court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.
But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”Comment

Agreed, as a contractor you should know what needs doing before they do. Pre-empt the work requirements and get the praise you deserve.Originally posted by rootsnallIt is a joke what we can get away with, I reckon on most contracts I can get away with 50% real work, 50% idling.
