Just had one done. Cost me £1900. It was a replacement for a tooth which had root canal surgery which was likely botched, leaving some of the nerve in there to slowly go awfully wrong, requiring horse tranquilisers and emergency removal. Not ever having root canal again...
To your queries.
1. Uncomfortable? Well, yes. it's dentistry, it's just about always uncomfortable, apart from the times it's bloody sore. This was no worse than uncomfortable, I'd say
2. I looked at Hungary on the basis of it being a fairly advanced dentistry culture over there (arguably better in this respect than the UK outside of London). Bottom line though was the extra day travelling each way would have eaten into my billable days, thus more than wiping out any saving. I also didn't like the idea of not being able to get back to the perpetrator/dentist easily if I needed some after care.
I'm still at the stage of having a vague worry about a dull pain I occasionally get in my lower jaw, and my tongue keeps wandering over to the new tooth to check out what it's doing there. Somewhat disconcerting. .
So good practice for Brexit?
