My new years resolution was to cycle to the new salt mines - only 3 miles or so mainly along a cycle track which is un-metalled. Sort of compacted gravel and chippings.

Regular cheapy mountain bike.

I have had two punctures so far

Please advise how to stop this happening.

Stop cycling to the new salt mine, that should do it.

Kevlar tyres. You're less likely to get punctures if you pump 'em up hard, but might be a bit less comfortable off road.

Or, according to they guy at the car place, you can line your tyres with bits of cut up car seatbelt for the same effect.

Muddy, I think I need to keep the seatbelts in the car. Does Kevlar really work now? I was never impressed with it in my proper cycling days.

I got these for my mountain bike and went from having punctures every time I used it to none at all (although admittedly I've only done a few hundred miles on it since I changed them). And they're dirt cheap now, so got to be worth a try. And you get free Haribo!
