AtW will be pleased to learn that the forum now supports emoji correctly :)

?‍?‍?‍? <- even complex ones!

Have fun :)

I should point out that emoji support isn't the main reason for the downtime. Apart from anything else, the way the upgrade had messed with the encoding of some database tables made the search facility even worse than it already was; I'll start it reindexing now (as I had to wipe the entire search index) so it should be as good as it ever was in a while - don't know exactly how long, probably a couple of hours :)

The new URL insert pop up is an absolute nightmare, because there doesn't seem to be any way to specify a text other than the URL itself.

So I have been continuing to add "{URL=blah}Text{/URL}" by hand (where curly brackets are square brackets)

Can't see who's liked/thanked for posts anymore though.

If you mean on individual posts, where it used to be "x y and z liked this post" and such, you're right; the "click on the bubble to see who liked it" thing is tulip. I'm working on it :bang:

I do that too. FWIW, if you want to show the square bracket code you can wrap it in [noparse][/noparse] tags, though having just done so with those [noparse] tags, I'm reminded of what a pain it is to do so ;)

I am working on restoring the old functionality of automatically fetching the title (if any) of the linked page if there's no text already within the [url] tags.

Ooh I just discovered this.
On Windows 10, press the Windows key and full stop . brings up an emoji selector window. ????????✈⛴⛽❤☮✝?◼??????☺??‍??‍??‍????
