The problem you have is that because you are use to typing with two fingers you will default to this particularly when stressed.
Not being able to touch type has some advantages. If you injury one of you hands, which I have done, you can still type at a decent speed. I actually touch type.

I am finding that I revert to 2 fingers when stressed, i.e. after touch typing for a few minutes! I am getting ever so slightly better but it just feels like i'm learning to ride a bike all over again.
I knew a VMS admin who could touch type and incredibly fast, but every time he'd rattle out 80 characters in 2 milliseconds and then backspace over 99% of them because of mistakes.
Actually just realised typing this that I type with mostly three but sometimes four fingers on each hand, but I still have to stare at the keyboard!

I can touchtype like a bloody hero when I am working by myself. The minute someone watches me I can't get a bloody word right!

It happened to me yesterday. I must have looked like an imbecilic monkey...

Never learnt it, but I do use all my fingers and type fairly quickly - accurately enough for a PC, but would be crap on a typewriter.
I remember 'Mavis Beacon teaches typing' but never got past lesson two.
I found that I could always type quicker my own way rather than following what Mavis suggested. I can just about touch type when I need to, which is almost never.
I tend to use almost all the fingers on my left hand, but only use a couple of fingers from my right hand.

I did type a whole list of comments in clientCo's test system that said "twat".
They were supposed to say "test", but I was sitting at a sideways angle and was doing the 't' with my right hand and the 'es' with my left, which wasn't where I thought I'd put it.
