What is the latest with regards to Android apps for tablets? I am looking to buy a Galaxy Tab and wondered if the issue of lack of apps (compared to the iPad) was a myth or fact.

What do you want it to do? What do you expect an app to do that a browser can't?
Since the browser supports flash, the only thing I've really noticed on my Android phones is that the browser doesn't do animated gifs.
I don't know what apps there are for Apple, but I can't really think of anything that I've thought "oh, I wonder if there is an app for that..." and not found one.
