Turned on an old computer for 1st time in ages and it is now installing number 34 of 67 updates. THis might not seem remarkable in a machine that has not been turned on in ages except - it is not connected to the internet!

Eeeek.

Eeeek.

Windows Update downloads the updates to the PC HDD and then applies them hence, not unusual but normal behaviour.

Best get it onto the web soon as there are probably another hundred or so updates available since you last went online with this machine.

When you last had it on, was it connected to the interweb? If so, it may have downloaded a bunch of updates at that point and is now deciding to install them.
