    Help Please!

    Help please..

Using my f’ing Vista Laptop I managed by a slip of a finger to delete a folder of data. It did not go to the Recycle bin.

Any suggestions on utilities to restore the files that do work will be appreciated.

System restore? Just back up docs created/modified after the restore point .
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

I think you will need an Undelete tool to recover your files.

R STUDIO, download it from the states for around 60 dollars (its worth it if your to lazy to backup data)

I have recovered many a failed drive with this and unless your drive has mechanical failure it will recover everything

Thanks for your invaluable assistance. I copied and pasted your post into Google and got what I wanted (a nice hex-editor and recovery tool (Free!!!)) .

Anyone who needs the same, please PM me.

Why don't you just post what you did? That way everybody gets to benefit.

Excellent idea, but even I o not rely on the great one to save me.

Instead I backup everything. Or should I say time machine backs up everything to another machine.
