    Sharepoint 2010

    Hi All,

Looking for a bit of advice on Sharepoint.

We are looking for a new way of communicating with all the staff who are out and about in various locations up and down the country.

We currently use e-mail and intranet to communcate but we were wondering whether we could use sharepoint to do all the above and also use it for document managment and also for launching various apps from within it.

And the final request - is there any way for Sharepoint to effectively replace the windows desktop - so when a user logs on they get presented with a Sharepoint screen which has all the new relevant info about what is going on around the business with quick easy links to various apps, documents etc etc etc.

Probably also be used for distributing training videos when applications get upgraded.

Any one got any experience on this?

    Thanks in Advance.

Yep, SharePoint can do all of that, but if it's going to be company-wide I suggest that you bring SharePoint specialists in to help you plan it.

Microsoft has a very good SharePoint Partnership scheme that will help with supplier selection.

One specialist I have worked with performing this service is Content and Code.

SharePoint Reviews is a very useful blog for information on SharePoint
