My graphics card came up with corruptions while booting, and in the BIOS, and lines when booting windows, and then a prompt BSOD.
It was out of warranty and was convinced I would be having to buy a new one.
BUT ....
After a little investigation on the net , a number of people encountering similar issues said that they had baked the main board from the GPU in their ovens. It basically melts the solder and forces fractured connections to reconnect.
So not having anything to lose, I decided on this kill or cure process.
Preheat oven to 235 deg C, strip down card to remove cooling fans etc.
Bake main board for 8-8.5 mins supported on balls of cooking foil, remove and leave to cool.
Replace cooling mechanism etc.
Replace in case.
IT WORKS AGAIN. Technology what a marvel.
